Our Journey

The journey of Jeevan Uthan Financial Service is a testament to our unwavering commitment to empowering communities and fostering financial growth. Our story begins in 2017 when we embarked on this remarkable expedition as a Not-For-Profit organization under the banner of Bansdroni Poddar Development Trust. We took our first step towards realizing our vision in January 2018 with our Bansdroni branch.

Within a short span, our dedication and efforts allowed us to build a portfolio of 4 crores through that single branch. Recognizing the need to expand our impact and reach, we made the strategic decision to transition into a Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC). Our journey to becoming an NBFC began in 2019, and despite facing challenges during the execution process, including the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we persevered. Our determination bore fruit when we were granted the NBFC license in March 2021.

With great excitement, we commenced our operations on the 12th of July, 2021. Upon becoming an NBFC, we initiated a transformative change by rebranding ourselves as Jeevan Uthan Financial Services Pvt. Ltd. This name encapsulated our commitment to uplift lives and communities through financial empowerment.

As of March 31, 2022, our portfolio stood at an impressive 6.9 crores across 10 branches, all without any external lending. By March 31, 2023, our portfolio grew to 9.99 crores, still without any external lending. Our journey saw significant milestones as we secured our first lending of 1 crore from Usha Financial Services Ltd. in April 2023 and an additional 1.5 crores from SBI Agri Commercial Branch in May 2023.

Currently, we have applied to the RBI for NBFC re-classification to NBFC-MFI, a testament to our commitment to expand our reach and serve even more communities. We are planning to open new branches in the states of Bihar and West Bengal in the fiscal year 2023-2024, with the aim of closing our portfolio at a remarkable 20 crores by the end of this fiscal year.
