'Good Lord' Blanc de Blancs is made in France in the Champagne region from the commune of Vertus, a village in the very south of Champagne. The winemaking utilizes techniques of the highest level of luxury. The wine is fermented and aged in French oak barrels. Only native yeasts are used during primary fermentation. The grapes are from very old vineyards, over 60 years old, with small berries. Good Lord is 100% Chardonnay, made in a solera system with wine from 2004 to 2012. Traditionally cognac is used to dosage in Champagne. The dosage for Good Lord is a secret, but rumor has it that part of it is composed of a tiny wee dram of Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon hand carried to Champagne.
