The Animal Lovin'™ Barbie® Nikki™ Doll was released in 1989. The product code is 1352. The doll came with an unnamed lion cub friend, several accessories, and also pressouts from the packaging. Nikki is an Asian character and the Animal Lovin' Barbie doll line introduced her as Barbie's friend. This was Nikki's only doll, but the name Nikki was later reused by other characters, including Midge's daughter Nikki, Skipper's friend Nikki, and Barbie's African-American friend Nikki.
